PLA vs PETG vs ABS
Every 3D printing journey hits the same question: what material should I use?
PLA
Most popular material on earth. Prints at 190-220C, no enclosure needed. Best for models, decor, prototypes. Softens at 52C.
PETG
Stronger than PLA, easier than ABS. Food-safe, moisture resistant, heat deflection 80C. Best for brackets, outdoor parts, functional prints.
ABS
Heat deflection 98C. Acetone-smoothable. Best for automotive, enclosures, RC parts. Requires enclosure.
Other Materials
ASA: UV-stable for outdoor use. TPU: flexible for cases and grips. Nylon: wear resistance for gears. Carbon Fiber PLA/PETG: stiff and lightweight. High Speed PLA: 200-600mm/s for Bambu printers.
Bottom Line
Starting out? Filora PLA. Functional parts? Filora PETG. Heat resistance? Filora ABS. Outdoors? Filora ASA. Flexible? Filora TPU.
